A Journey to Formosa
For our first trip in the Pacific, we chose the island of Taiwan. To visit the land at the center of the world’s attention, it was an unnerving thought at first. Though our time there was anything but unnerving - Taiwan felt safe and full of life. The people, warm and welcoming. English was a universal language and the US dollar strong.
It was a culture very different than that of Okinawa; Taipei was a storm of activity juxtaposed by peaceful countryside. Though a short plane ride away, it felt like another planet altogether.
