A Final Celebration

“Welcome to the final celebration…”

What is your purpose in this life?

We’ve dressed up a little too often these last few years… and not for ideal circumstances. We have lost - and celebrated - many. Wakes, rosaries, viewings, they bring a “come-as-you-are” mentality; to mourn, to remember, and to celebrate the beautiful accident of life.

But if you stop and listen, you learn so much. So much from the many lessons and experiences and stories told by loving family members and friends.

Grieving doesn’t have to be sad. Death doesn’t have to be an end. But a beginning for all those affected. You see their impact on the world, all those that have been touched and changed for the better.

And in that sense, they live on.

Maybe that’s my purpose of life - to make my actions and impact so great, they leave the world better for the generations ahead of me that I will never know.

To leave a legacy.

-

”I wasn’t sure I could live up to the man you were, but now that I have my wife and daughter, it makes a lot more sense.”
